Mogo Zoo

10% discount as Barlings guest

Mogo Zoo is a privately-owned zoo situated 10km south of Batemans Bay in the picturesque and historic gold mining village of Mogo.

The Mogo Zoo organisation is committed to the survival of endangered animals and provides world standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 42 rare and exotic species, including the White Lions of ‘Timbavati’. Mogo Zoo also boasts the largest collection of primates in any private zoo in Australia.

Montague Island

This protected island within the Batemans Marine Park features thousands of years of ongoing Aboriginal heritage and over 125 years of lighthouse history. The island is a rich marine environment with a diverse ecology. NSW’s most significant little penguin and fur seal colonies live here. Due to the seasonal variability of wildlife, there’s always something different to see and connect with at Montague Island.

Birdland Animal Park

Birdland Animal Park is a delightful and intimate hands-on experience. Forest paths wind through eight acres of sweeping waterfront trees and landscaped gardens brimming with native Australian animals, birds and reptiles.
Many creatures will hop up to you for hand feeding and patting. Adorable orphaned baby wombats (under Birdland’s rear and release program) especially love a cuddle. Have your picture taken beside a koala at feeding time. If you’re feeling brave, let a snake wind across you while the majestic (and amorous) goanna looks on! Black swans, pelicans and egrets are just some of the regular visitors you might see.
